Day of Atonement is a day of repentance. Asking YAHWEH to forgive us for all the sins committed in the previous year. Having YAHWEH forgive us is important and we must have godly sorrow. Atonement or reconciliation with YAHWEH is absolutely necessary before the Feast of Tabernacles. The year of Jubilee historically occurs on the Day of Atonement. Jubilee comes after the lapse of 7x7 or 49 years.
The Day of Atonement helps us to realize that the publishing of the name of YAHWEH is mercy for our people. It is a time for us to love the idea of being righteous, a time to eliminate corrupt minds. Day of Atonement is decision making time. 1 Corinthians 15: 42,44,45. Day of Atonement deals with the resurrection of the dead. It is designed to raise us incorruptible. It is designed to raise us to a state of righteousness. Proverbs 14:34
